The Body Shop closes at Hempstead Valley, Gillingham
The Body Shop has shut its Hempstead Valley branch.
The cosmetics store closed at the shopping centre in Gillingham last Tuesday (19 March).
It is one of 75 stores to shut after the beauty chain was put into administration in February, cutting 489 jobs across the UK.
The store is now being offered to rent for £65,000 a year by estate agents GCW and Savills.
The latest closure at the shopping centre comes weeks after Claire’s shut its accessories and jewellery shop.
However, McDonald’s recently returned with a new restaurant and German Doner Kebab is opening on 10 April.
Home Bargains is also set to open at the shopping centre next year.
The Body Shop collapsed into administration just months after it was bought by German private equity firm Aurelius for £205m.
Administrators were called in after the beauty chain recorded poor sales over the festive period.
The nearest stores are now located at Fremlin Walk in Maidstone and Bluewater.
