German Doner Kebab opens at Hempstead Valley, Gillingham
German Doner Kebab has opened its first Medway branch.
The kebab chain opened the new restaurant today (11 April) at Hempstead Valley, in the former Santander bank.
It serves kebabs using premium meat, locally sourced vegetables, signature sauces made daily and handmade Turkish-style bread.
The 1140 sq ft restaurant has space for up to 20 customers and offers a takeaway service with Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.
Its opening hours are 11am to 11pm Monday to Sunday.
The Hempstead Valley branch is the brand’s 138th franchised location in the UK.
Ahead of the opening, Simon Wallis, CEO at German Doner Kebab, said: “I am thrilled to officially announce plans to bring the unique GDK taste sensation to Hempstead Valley.
“GDK is revolutionising kebabs across the UK and I am confident we will continue this trend in Kent.”
With over 150 restaurants across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, the brand is now rapidly expanding in the USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Ireland.
German Doner Kebab follows the return of McDonald’s to Hempstead Valley, which opened last month.
Plans have also been announced for a new Home Bargains store at the shopping centre.
