B&M unveils opening date for Gillingham High Street store

An opening date for B&M’s latest store in Medway has been revealed.
The discount retailer will open a new branch in Gillingham High Street on Saturday, 16 November.
It has taken over the former Wilko unit, which closed last September after the chain went into administration.

A B&M spokesperson shared the opening date with Future Medway and said that further details will be announced soon.
The large unit is currently being refurbished, and once opened it will stock a range of food and drink, health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, toys, games and gifts.
The retailer has also submitted a premises licence for the sale of alcohol.

B&M already has stores in Chatham, Strood and Rainham Shopping Centre, which opened in February.
Following Wilko’s collapse last year, B&M acquired 51 of its branches in a deal worth £13 million.
This has helped make B&M one of the fastest growing retailers in the UK, with over 740 stores since it was founded in 1978.
