B&M has opened a new store in Rainham.

The discount retailer has moved into the former Wilko unit at Rainham Shopping Centre.

It opened its doors for the first time on Thursday (29 February).

Customers can find a wide variety of food and drink, health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, toys, games and gifts.

B&M gave the 11,000 sq ft unit an extensive makeover and created more than 45 new jobs.

The opening hours are 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

The B&M store manager said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

Rainham’s Wilko closed last September after the company collapsed into administration and shut all 400 stores across the country.

B&M bought 51 Wilko stores in a deal worth £13 million, with Rainham being one of them.
