Gift and gadget retailer Menkind has shut its only store in Medway.

The store at Hempstead Valley, Gillingham, was open for just nine months after replacing Clarks, which closed in October last year.

It closed its doors for the final time on Friday, 4 August.

Signs and stock have been removed from the store, leaving an empty unit.

A spokesperson for Menkind said: “The lease on our Hempstead Valley store has been terminated by the Landlord and therefore, sadly, we have had to close our Menkind store.

“We are pleased to report that we have been able to relocate a number of our of staff members to other Menkind stores.

“If an opportunity arises again, we would be delighted to return to Hempstead Valley,” the spokesperson added.

The retail chain sells tech accessories, toys and lifestyle gadgets.

Its nearest alternative stores are located in Bluewater, Maidstone and Lakeside Shopping Centre.
