Global audio brand Bose has closed its Chatham headquarters.
The UK arm of the company was based in Medway for 25 years.
But it has now moved to Soho, London, dealing a major blow to Medway’s economy.

Bose first came to Medway in 1999, when it moved its UK offices from Sittingbourne to Gillingham Business Park.
It then relocated to Maritime Place, near Dockside Outlet Centre, in 2014.
Now its former Chatham offices are being advertised for rent by estate agent Watson Day.
The 20,400 sq ft premises includes three floors of open-plan and air conditioned office space, which is being refurbished for occupation by multiple new tenants.

Throughout its 25-year presence in Medway, Bose struck a number of local partnerships.
This included Chatham’s Central Theatre, run by Medway Council, which became a European Centre of Excellence for Bose last June.
The audio manufacturer installed a new, ‘state-of-the-art’ speaker system at the theatre, and provided training to theatre staff, colleges and community groups.
Bose was founded in 1964 in the US and is best known for its home speakers, headphones and commercial sound systems.
