Zizzi opens new restaurant at Chatham Maritime

Restaurant chain Zizzi has launched its first branch in Medway.

The Italian restaurant opened its doors on Friday (24 May), opposite Dockside Outlet Centre.

It serves a range of pizza, pasta and calzone dishes, including vegan and vegetarian options.

The restaurant boasts an open kitchen, outdoor seating and a large mural inspired by Chatham’s nautical history, which was painted by artist Ola Intu.

The opening hours are 11:30am to 10pm from Monday to Thursday and Sunday.

It is also open on Friday and Saturday between 11:30am and 10:30pm.

Around 30 jobs have been created by the new opening.

Zizzi’s restaurant comes just weeks after Wagamama opened next door earlier this month.

Both companies agreed a 15-year lease with landlord Schroders Capital UK Real Estate Fund, according to property website Completely Retail.

Zizzi launched in 1999 and has more than 130 restaurants across the UK, including in Maidstone and Bluewater.
