A long-running hair salon has shut in Chatham town centre.

Supercuts, on the ground floor of the Pentagon Centre, is no longer trading.

It closed its doors on Monday (13 January) and the unit has been left empty, with the shutters pulled down and signage removed.

In an email sent to customers, Supercuts announced the closure and said that staff members would be transferred to nearby branches.

The chain’s nearest hair salons are located in Hempstead Valley, Gillingham, and Bluewater Shopping Centre.

It remains unknown why the decision was taken to close the Chatham branch.

Founded in the US in 1975, Supercuts operates more than 80 sites across the UK and is best known for its affordable, unisex haircuts.

Supercuts did not respond to a request for comment.
