Shops on Luton High Street in Chatham could make way for a new development.

Plans have been submitted for 24 flats, three shops and three offices.

The block would be built on the site of 43-47 Luton High Street, currently the Medway Food Centre, Roofcare Roofing Supplies and Golden Dishes restaurant.

The building is set to be four storeys in height and designed with brickwork rendered in a cream colour.

A mix of 13 one-bedroom and 11 two-bedroom flats would be created on the upper floors.

Although earlier versions of the plans included balconies, no private amenity space for the flats is now proposed.

The development will also not provide any car parking spaces, while 32 cycle parking spaces will be created.

A decision on the planning application is due by 5 July.

Residents are able to submit a representation in favour or against the plans online.
