Lloyds bank on Strood High Street closes permanently
4 April 2024In Strood1 Minute
Lloyds has shut its bank in Strood.
The High Street branch closed for the final time today (4 April).
Lloyds blamed the closure on falling counter transactions, claiming they had dropped by 46% between July 2018 and July 2023.
The nearest alternative branch is now in Chatham and the Post Office can also be used for transactions.
Strood’s latest bank closure comes just weeks after NatWest shut, leaving the town with two banks – Nationwide and Kent Reliance.
