Strood’s former Wilko store has gone on the market.

The empty town centre unit is being advertised for rent by estate agent Cradick Retail.

It closed last September after the retail chain collapsed into administration.

The 14,529 sq ft store has a ground floor sales area and first floor ancillary space.

It also has two entrances, with one facing the High Street and another accessed from the Asda car park.

The rent is not publicly known as it is only available on application.

The future of the other Wilko branches in Medway is a mixed picture currently.

Rainham’s branch is reopening as B&M in February, while the store on Gillingham High Street continues to sit empty.

The branch in Chatham’s Pentagon Centre will be split up – the ground floor is expected to go on the market this year and the first floor will form part of the new NHS health centre.
