Chatham’s former Wilko store is being advertised for rent.

The Pentagon Centre branch closed last October after the retail chain collapsed into administration.

It has now been put up on the market by estate agent Jamieson Mills.

Only the ground floor of the two-storey unit is being marketed, spanning 24,732 sq ft.

The unit will be subdivided to allow the first floor section to be incorporated into a proposed NHS healthy living centre.

It is not known how much the rent would cost, as it is only available on application.

The store is currently being used for community events by the Pentagon Centre’s management.

The future of Medway’s three other Wilko branches is a mixed picture currently.

The Strood branch was put up for rent in January, while budget retailer B&M took over the Rainham branch in February.

It is not known whether there are plans for the Gillingham High Street store, which continues to sit empty and has not gone on the market.
