Cozenton Park Sports Centre in Rainham to open in July
An opening month has been revealed for a new family-friendly sports centre in Rainham.
The former Splashes on Bloors Lane is being replaced by Cozenton Park Sports Centre.
Medway Sport, part of Medway Council, has now confirmed the £23.65 million facility will open in the middle of July.
The centre will have two swimming pools – a children’s pool with flume, wave ball and beach area, and a 25-metre training pool for lane swimming and lessons.
It will also have a fitness gym and a multi-purpose room for exercise classes and children’s parties.
Family and accessible changing rooms are being created, as well as a café overlooking Cozenton Park.
Building contractor Willmott Dixon Construction started work on the new centre last March.
Details about memberships and bookings for pre-opening tours are set to be released soon.
The former Splashes was demolished after plans for a £5 million revamp were scrapped because surveys found significant issues with the structure.
More information about Cozenton Park Sports Centre can be found on Medway Council’s website here.

I have missed the convenience of Splashes Pool and am very much looking forward to this new leisure centre.
