Burger King closes long-running branch in Dockside Outlet Centre, Chatham

One of Burger King’s locations in Chatham has shut permanently.
The fast food giant has confirmed the closure of its Dockside Outlet Centre branch.
It was one of the first tenants at the shopping centre when it opened in 2003, initially trading from the food court before it was replaced by The Range.

Last year a planning application was put forward by WD Limited, owners of Dockside Outlet Centre, to allow a wider variety of uses to occupy the unit, known as Class E.
Class E use generally covers shops, offices, gyms, restaurants and other types of commercial businesses.
Medway Council planners approved the proposal in December as it would “allow for flexibility” and “create a more vibrant environment” at the shopping centre.
WD Limited has not yet confirmed a new tenant for the unit.
A spokesperson for Burger King said: “Burger King UK can confirm that our Chatham Dockside restaurant closed on 10th November [2024].
“Customers can still enjoy Burger King at nearby restaurants located at 80 High Street, Gillingham, ME7 1AY and 247 High Street, Chatham, ME4 4BQ.”
