Boots is shutting its pharmacy in Rainham Shopping Centre.

The branch’s last day of trading will be Saturday, 30 March.

Staff members confirmed the closure and said that an independent pharmacy will be taking over the unit.

Prescriptions will continue to be dispensed until the closing date.

It is understood there will be no redundancies and staff will be offered work at nearby stores.

Boots announced plans to close 300 pharmacies across the UK last June, focusing on branches that are in close proximity to each other.
