Opening date revealed for Wagamama at Chatham Maritime
Wagamama has confirmed an opening date for its new restaurant in Chatham.
It is set to open on Monday, 13 May, opposite Dockside Outlet Centre.
This will be Medway’s first Wagamama, with the closest currently being in Maidstone.
Spanning 3,229 sq ft, the restaurant will serve Wagamama’s well-known pan-Asian cuisine seven days a week.
Its opening hours will be 11am to 10pm Monday to Thursday and Sunday, and 11am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday.
Wagamama, which launched in 1992, has more than 170 branches across the UK and is set to open ten new locations this year, including in Chatham.
The chain will be joined by Italian restaurant Zizzi, which is opening next door at the end of May.
Both restaurants agreed a 15-year lease with landlord Schroders Capital UK Real Estate Fund, according to property website Completely Retail.
The empty units were previously occupied by Villagio and The Real China, and were set to become an MFA bowling alley – but those plans never materialised.
