A major affordable housing scheme in Chatham has reached completion.

Peel Waters and Legal & General Affordable Homes (LGAH) have finished building work on 237 affordable homes at Chatham Waters.

This includes 139 homes for shared ownership and 98 homes for affordable rent, provided to people on Medway Council’s housing waiting list.

The scheme, named Cavalier Court, is split across two blocks – Minerva Place and Victory Place – and is LGAH’s largest affordable housing development in the UK.

The new homes are offered as one and two-bedroom flats, as well as three-bedroom townhouses.

Peel Waters, the developer behind Chatham Waters, has so far invested more than £125 million into the 26-acre site.

The overall masterplan will eventually provide up to 950 new homes, alongside the already completed Asda superstore, Waterfront University Technical College (UTC) and public spaces.
